Revenge

Oh sweet, sweet revenge. It's something that comes naturally to us. When someone does something to make us angry, usually, the first thing you want to do is to get back at them. Yesterday, I talked about a gentle and quiet spirit, and that also applies to this. Romans 12:19, "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'"

Let's say someone walks up to you, and you start talking to them, and they start talking very rudely to you. What do you say in reply? Do you try to be rude to them, or do you simply walk away? Well, if you go with the first one, you'll say some snarky reply, and then they'll say some mean reply, and then you'll say something back, and pretty soon, you two are enemies. Or, you could just choose to not speak your mind, and walk away, which is the difficult thing to do, yes, but its also the more mature. And, the more you do it, the easier it is.

Another way we can get revenge, is by our actions, which is also very bad. Like I said yesterday, sometimes, you just want to punch them in the face. Don't. It's difficult, but physical revenge is never necessary. If you have a problem with someone, talk to them about it, but never do anything to get back at them. Now, sometimes, if someone is giving you a hard time, and they keep going, sometimes, you have to show them that you can't be pushed around, but never, ever ever ever, get revenge. It will never end well for either of you, and you'll only end up regretting it. It's not the lady like thing to do, in fact, it's not the christian thing to do. Revenge will only lead to more revenge, please keep this in mind, and thank you for reading. :)
