What Do You Do When You See Immodesty?

When we go out in public, and see someone dressed immodestly, what do we do? Do we look away, do we pretend we never saw them? Well, no matter where you look, you're going to see it (unless you live in a small house in the middle of nowhere by yourself with no cable, cellphones, internet, or any connection with the outside world). But, in Genesis chapter 9:20-23 (from the ESV) says "(20) Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. (21) He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. (22) And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside. (23) Then Shem and Jepheth took a garment, laid it on their shoulders, and walked backward and covered and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward and they did not see their father's nakedness."

Now, because of certain laws, people aren't allowed to go into public places without wearing any clothes. Well, most places anyway. But, they are allowed to wear "shorts" (which we all know they're just denim underwear covers) and a bikini top in public places. That's pretty close to it. It's kinda difficult to NOT see those things when you go out in public, but you should always do your best to not look. God will always give you a way out. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says, "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide a way of escape, that you will be able to endure it."

Genesis 9:20-23 also means that no matter WHO it is, it's never okay to be dressed immodestly in front of them. Even if it's another girl. Please remember this next time you go out in public, and make sure and remember that if you just ask, God will give you a way out. Matt. 7:7, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it will be opened to you." Thank you for reading. And please don't forget to share. :)
